My 3 GOALden rules to keep your New Year's resolutions

Happy new Year 2022!

I wish you all the best for this year! May all your deepest wishes come true, and may you able to trust that Life will deliver it to you in the best way possible. If January is a month during which you like to make goals for the new year, here are my 3 golden tips for successful goal-setting!

1. Ask yourself "what kind of life do I want?"

Setting goals without a clear vision of their purpose is like deciding to take a boat trip without a compass: it's hard to keep on sailing if you don't know where you're going. Take a few minutes to close your eyes and visualize the life of your dreams. FEEL as if you were already in it. Then open your eyes and write it down. This is you "WHY". Your goals are the little steps bringing you to your dream life.

2. Start with small, ACHIEVABLE goals.

It's best to succeed at small goals than fail big ones. Goals that are "too big" put your brain into panic mode and reduce your chances of success. Rather than "I'll wake up 2 hours earlier to be more productive", start with 30 mins earlier for one week, and increase slowly after that. Instead of "exercising every day", try twice per week, at first. Small goals will motivate you more because you know you have bigger chances to succeed. Once you did, you can set other goals or increase the existing ones. Fueled by the confidence of having met the previous goals, you are much more likely to succeed!

3. If you've failed at a goal, try reducing it and start anew!

It's easy to feel disappointed when we haven't met a goal. It's OK, it happens! Often, the goal we set for ourself was too strict or hard to reach. Try dividing it into smaller goals over time to build your confidence back. Don't overestimate the power of small, positive habits. Reward yourself to motivate yourself, for example "I'll meditate 10 mins and then I'll have my morning coffee". Associating the new desired habit (meditating) with an already existing one will help you achieve your goals in new ways.

I hope these tips will help you make the best out of 2022! If you feel like you need to go beyond goals and address the subconscious blocks that might be on your way!
